“Poetry for the Public” will be the theme of an evening of poetry at Stromsburg Public Library Tuesday, April 29, at 7 p.m. The evening highlight will be the award winning poetry readings by Cross County seniors Erica Hengelfelt and Rachel Ford. Other Stromsburg personalities will read their favorite poems. Anyone wishing to participate may call the library at 764-7681 or email at stromsburgpl@alltel.net.

A large selection of new books is now available for checkout. Some fiction works include Another Thing to Fall by Laura Lippman, Compulsion by Jonathan Kellerman, Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult, Forgive Me by Amanda Ward, Keeper and Kid by Edward Hardy, The Girl Who Stopped Swimming by Joshilyn Jackson, Death of a Gentle Lady by M.C. Beaton, Storm Surge by Renee Gutteridge, Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen by Susan Gilmore, Winding Ways Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini, and The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O’Farrell.

Some nonfiction works include Crime Scene Chemistry for the armchair Sleuth by Cathy Cobb, Physics of NASCAR by Diandra Leslie-Pelecky, The Soiling of Old Glory by Louis Masur, The Anatomist by Bill Hayes, Photographing Your Family by Joel Sartore, and All Cracked Up by Patsy Clairmont.
